Hello from Alabama

Hi everyone my name is Patrick. I have never had an aquarium before but have always wanted one. So what better way to get started than jumping in feet first! I have found a 50g acrylic tank /w stand that needs a little refinishing that i plan on using. I went searching for acrylic refinishing kits and found this. No idea how well it works but i read a lot of good reviews so i am going to try it. But here is my plan for my freshwater tank. One day i would like to have a saltwater tank as well.

50g acrylic tank w/ stand
Aqueon Submersible 200w Heater
Hagen Fluval 205 Canister Filter
Air Pump w/ 4 outputs

I am taking it slow because i want to do everything right. I am going to start a journal thread over in the show us your tank section but i thought i would say hi and im happy to be here and i have found a lot of great info so far!
