Hello from Chicago!

Hi Everyone,

I thought I should post something up here since I am most appreciative of all and any helpful advice the rest of the 3reef folks have to give. As the screen name may indicate, I live in Chicago, on the North Side, so if any 3reefers are in Chicago, holler!

I'm planning on starting a 30 gallon SW tank that I used for FW in high school some 10 years ago or so. I'll start up a different thread on that, but here's a preview. Assuming I did the picture attachment right.

Welcome to 3 Reef, I too am from the Chicago area, well about 45 miles south anyways. I am from Peotone if you know where that is, north of Kankakee.
I too am setting up a reef tank or just did. Its a 75 gallon that I have cycling right now.
You came to the right spot for information.
Just a heads up: if you are interested in joining a reef club check out Joliet Area Reef Club - Powered by vBulletin. We have a lot of members that will help out in any way we can. Even come to your house to help you set it up and so on. Its a good club with members perks. There is a membership drive on the 28th at Aquatic Environments in Mokena if you are interested, you will be able to meet with a lot of members there and enter the raffles for prize give a way's also.

Hi Rich, thanks for the heads up about JARC, I've checked out their website and whatnot too, seems like a good group, that's super cool that you guys will come over set up stuff up. I think I'd probably more be looking at the Chicago Reef Club (or whatever its called, I forget the letters), since I am in the city itself and on the Northside. But maybe I'll make it down to the shop, it's always good to know who's selling what. Plus the LFS by me is run by carnies. I'm pretty sure.

Thanks for the very nice and hospitable invitation, maybe I will end up meeting you at a JARC function.
