Hey all, i just got into the saltwater thing, its very intresting and i enjoy watching all the life in my aquarium.
Currently i have a 29gallon long tank ( WAY TO SMALL FOR MY TASTE )
but its a good start for learning the basics of saltwater for me.
Im running an undergravel filter with a powerhead and a 20-40 wisper pump
My substrate consist of crushed coral and i have approx 40lbs live rock
Weve got 1 clownfish. 1 domino damsel, 1 green chromis, and 1 yellow with purple down its full back ( Not sure what this is ).
My live rock has plenty of coraline algea growing on it. and i have 2 emerald crabs, 2 shrimp, and various snails and hermit crabd in there as a cleaner crew.
Im glad i found this fourm as this newbie needs info on keeping his livestock healthy and expanding

    Welcome to 3reef!

I would ditch the undergravel filter if I were you. I would at least get a HOB filter, or prepare for a larger tank, and get yourself a sump.

Woops ,, sorry... Yea the 20-40 Wisper i mentioned is a HOB filter.
I also use the undergravel filter equipped with a powerhead to suck everything to the bottom of the tank and water circulation.

Sorry like i said i was a newbie... What is LFS???

LFS stands for local fish store.

I wouldn't go with a under gravel filter (there a little outdated).plus your blowing around all the good bacteria that you want to settle in the CC and stay there.
