Hello all. I am very new to the saltwater fish community so please bare with me. Also excuse my terminology being that I'm such a newbie. Lets start with my setup. The tank was recently moved from a friends house to mine. It is a 75 gallon with live rock and sand. It has a filter on the back of the tank, a canister filter, and 2 small filters on either side of the tank. Ph is perfect, salinity is perfect, Nitrite is perfect also, the only thing thats off is the Nitrate. It is incredibly high. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. And secondly I would like to know how to feed the fish. I have been giving them 2 brine shrimp cubes and about 5 silver sods a day, and someone told me that might be my problem with the Nitrate due to overfeeding. Any Information would help thank you

I have fed mine twice weekly when my numbers get off. Yeah. You're feeding way too much.

Also, I want actual numbers. Post NH4, NO2, NO3, pH, SG, Temp and whatever other tests you have.

And find out what you have for filters and powerheads. I want to know what kind of skimmer you have. And lighting.

The more information you give us the better we can critique (a nice way of saying tear down) your system (always in a nice way) to help you succeed in this wonderful hobby you have joined us in.

Take advantage of all the information here. I couldn't have done it without these folks. My wife loves them because they have saved me a lot of money. That is why she tolerates me being online sooooooo much!!!!!! Hehehehe

Welcome! As everyone said, way too much food. I used to feed my fish twice a day and have cut it down to a pinch of tiny pellets in the morning everyday. I would suggest doing a water change to drop the nitrate levels. Nitrates aren't as dangerous as ammonia and nitrite, but you do want to get it under control. Have you changed the carbon in the canister lately?
