    Hello all, has anyone made a refrugium out of a 5 gallon aquarium? Or would it be better to make my own acrylic custom size for under my Biocube 29?

    Hi Nick if you look under the DIY sectoin youll find a great thread for a DYI refugium. he use a ten gal but you can build to suit with the general directions. I noticed this is your first post; I hope you enjoy this site as much as I do. Im not the offical greeting party, but glad you are here.

    Welcome to 3reef Nick,please no 4 letter words (s-n-o-w),I live in Alabama.2" of that stuff and the state shuts down...lol.
    If you're talking about a sump/fuge it would be possible to do a 5 gal but they are generally as big as you can go with them (what you can fit under your stand).The bigger they are the more water volume you will have and the more room you will have to hide your equipment (skimmer,heaters ect.),so my advice would be to go bigger.
