Hello from Ohio

hi there, i'm new to all this, so i got a 75gal salt water tank, i got a fruval 405 canister filter and an octopus bh 100f skimmer, my question is how ofter do i have to do water changes, i use to do it every 2 weeks, but since i got the skimmer they told me i don't have to do it that often, anybody has an answer to that?
oh yah, i got live sand, live rock, snails, 2 starfish, scooter blenny, lawnmower blenny, singapor angle, sailfin, coral beauty, 2 nemo, cleaner shrimp

I would still do at the very least,monthly water changes,your skimmer may pull most of the gunk out,but you need to replenish the minerals and trace elements as they get used up.Where about in Ohio,i'm from zanesville.And welcome to 3reef!!

 

Welcome to 3reef, also clean the 405 thoroughly monthly and the hoses quarterly to keep from creating a nitrate factory from detritus accrual.
