Hi guys, I'm pretty new to this whole thing. I know I really want to set up a mini-reef tank. I read a book on this and have been on your forums for a day or two. I'm thinking a bout having about a 55 or 40 gallon tank. I know somewhat a bout the processes important to setting up a tank(filtration, heat, balanced water) but i'm still confused by brand names and things like that. It would be really nice if you all could just explain your setups and tell me some good web sites and techniques.

Hmm... Try TBaquatics if you are going to mail order, as they have 9.99 shipping to eastern and central PA. If you dont mind driving, theres a place in Northampton, but they are expensive and their live stock are not the best anymore, used to be the best place, but he switched to Chinese dealers and nothing lives more than a week :-/ In Lancaster theres a place called that fish place which is HUGE. I mean HUGE. Suppesedly have great prices and decent fish and livestock. So id try therefirst :-/ Heres their site :)

I'll second to suggestion to try that fish place, worth a trip just to look around, I am gonna be up saturday, meeting a person there to buy my next tank, 46 bowfront...but check it out if you get a chance, great prices on livestock and supplies, and for the sheer amount of stuff they carry the stuff is pretty healthy...the keep the fish on there website but they usually have some oddball stuff thats not on the site
