Hello from Pittsburgh!

Hello, everybody!

As the straight-forward screen name indicates, the name is Joe. I'm a 29 year-old data analyst in Pittsburgh, and still somewhat new to keeping a marine tank.

My family kept a variety freshwater fish when I was growing up, and I've always wanted a saltwater tank. I always either didn't have the time or didn't have the money. About a year and a half ago, that all changed, and I've been working on the hobby since then.

I don't have a reef at this time, as I'm still getting the hang of more basic, sturdier animals, especially things that won't require me to invest in stronger lighting schemes; I'd like to get some more of my college loans paid off before I send my electric bill any higher. I'm learning more as I go along and I definitely want to have a reef someday (just not now).

Now that I'm sure that this isn't a hobby that only temporarily caught my interest, I've decided to join some online forums to have another outlet to increase my knowledge...and maybe figure out some of the screw-ups that I'm sure to encounter along the way (I think I've got most of the screw-ups I've already done figured out). I'm here to learn and share.
