    You have a point with the DSB. I was looking like crazy on the pros and cons and was driving me nuts. I figure at this point since I bought the sand, it came out to covering about 2-3 inches all around and I'll just work with that and see how everything plays out. lol.

    here's progress so far....added the sand and continuing tank cycle in the dark. light only for photo. my ammonia has been at 1 ppm for the past 2 days. is this normal? my tank still feels so empty for the time being. might add more rock later.
