    Welcome. Glad you are ok. Do you kiwi's have relatively colder ocean (temporate) waters than Australia for live specimen collecting? I'm a Canuk so not even a chance unless I do a Pacific NorthWest tank that would involve a chiller.

    @pezblanco: yea the ocean is pretty cold down here. I had a temperate tank with things I had collected from rock pools (so that they could survive a greater temperature change than ocean animals - I had no chiller), but I got rid of that tank after the first earthquake.
    To do things properly with a local tank here, you would definitely need a chiller. There are a few forums from NZ regarding local tanks and they usually recommend 15C as the temperature. But you can get some nice specimens if you are brave enough to get in the water! This guy's tank is a nice NZ local tank:
