    I joined 3Reef a few years ago with the intention of getting into the hobby, but then life happened and funds dried up. So I've just been a lurker - until now!

    Being born and raised in South Florida I had a close relationship with the ocean. It was a big part of my life, and I probably took it for granted. I recently moved to the Chicago area, and I really miss the ocean. I need something tropical!

    So I've saved my pennies and I'm ready to get into the hobby. In fact I just ordered my first salt water aquarium, a SC Aquariums 50g cube. (I actually got a great deal on it on Ebay) Now I'm researching lighting.

    I'm taking things slowly and following advice I learned right here on 3Reef!

    Florida to Chicagoland? That must have been a long acclimation process. :)
