Literally just changed it, LOL. Which one the pink or black?

The pink one is a Red Velvet Fairy Wrasse, or Cirrhilabrus rubrisquamis.
The black fish (current) is a Black Leopard Wrasse, or Macropharyngodon negrosensis.

Ha!! You did just change it. That wrasse is amazing. Was he difficult to acclimate? I know he was a little bit more expensive than a six line wrasse. ;)

The Red Velvet is quite easy IME, but sixlines get along with no other wrasses, in case you have one already;)

The leopard on the other hand, was extremely difficult. Took almost 6 weeks of consistent specialized care to get him to eat any prepared foods. Now he eats like a pig with the rest of the wrasse crew.:cheesy:

I heard leopard wrasses were very difficult. You said it took 6 weeks to get him to eat. Was it something new that you did or was it doing something repeatedly that got him to eat?

Yeah, they are "Expert Only" designated, but that is just due to being poor shippers and hard to get onto prepared foods. It was basically just consistency with feeding live enriched brine, once he finally picked a couple of those, I moved to frozen mysis (similar look and movement through the water column with vortech in feed mode), then onto live bloodworms, frozen bloodworms, flake, and finally a high quality pellet.

Was a pain, but I love that fish.

One day when I have time and a great cuc to get all of the leftover food I will try one. They look amazing. I know a guy that has a pair of the regular non black leopard wrasses. It took him 3 tries to keep them alive and I consider him a reef genius.

LOL. Yeah, they are definitely a strain on the keeper, and the aquarium. I am currently searching for a couple of other leopards to add to the system. Gonna snag a Potter's leopard, and a Kuiter's leopard. Hopefully a male flame wrasse too, if I can find a decent place to grab one.

Wow, you like a challenge. Male flames are expensive!! I can get a female for 50 a male is 100. But it seems odd since they are prone to going male, even when a male is present. Just have to be something I am not...patient
