    Hello,
My names Chris and I am getting my first saltwater aquarium together. We were fortunate enough to have a family member give us a 300 gallon set up. She has had in storage for several years and gave into letting me get it set up at my house. I am looking forward to the challenge. I know it's big for a first, but I like the size and how it fits in the house. We will getting here next week, if not sooner, and getting it cleaned up and going.

I want a reef tank and 300lbs of rock is a little pricey, so we are looking forward to making some DIY base rock and a few nice pieces of live rock from another tank. So this will be a SLOW process and I don't plan on adding much of anything til all the rock is cured and in place. Will keep it updated as much as I can.

    Chris

Hi! The first reef is always the most exciting!! Take it slow and enjoy it. If you can, invest in a smaller tank to get your "feet wet". You can always transfer livestock into a large aquarium.
