hello guys. first of all i would like to say HI to all the people here. im new to this thread. im thinking of making a nanoreef and i need help. i bought a 8g biocube (which i really regret. i shoulda gotten the 29g) to start, a water heater, 6 pounds of live rock and some live sand.

i would like to learn more about water treatments, about the cycle (what is a cycle?) and everything i need to know. im doing research but some of them really dont answer some of my question.

im putting mostly corals and just 2 clownfishes.

any advice is greatly appriciated. thanks :)

Well, two clowns in an 8 gal. could be problematic. I might go with a goby and a Gramma or something like that. Lighting for the coral will limit your choices to soft coral, maybe a LPS or two. Remember, you won't have 8 gal. of water after you add the rock (displacement). A pic of your set up will help.

Just like he said, your options will be limited with that small of a tank. Also, with the lack of water you are going to have to really maintain it well with water changes and the margin for error is going to be very small. I think most people with nano also have larger tanks that they frag from. Just a thought :)
