I scuba dive daily in the pacific and love all ocean life. I'm currently running a display, med, and qt. My main passion is softies zoa/pals/mats and spend hours a day observing them in the wild on the reef. I do my best to reproduce that in my display, I only have four fish ATM P-clowns (breeding on a tile), six line wrasse, and long nose butterfly fish. I enjoy building up man made live rock and cultivating them with softies for friends to limit the amount removed from our shores. I live in hawaii so LPS and SPS are not legal so I have no clue how to even attempt to raise them.
My dream is to have a indoor reef pool to snorkel in.....longtime from now....lotta cash from now lol...
I do have a lot of real world experience with softies because I do enjoy exploring how those little gems live their lives.
I will have many questions in regards to sumps and flow. I have never gotten the hang of them and my fish would really like me to figure it out :)

welcome to 3reef! You are certainly blessed to live in Hawaii! The first time I ever snorkeled was in a little cove in Hawaii and it spoiled me thinking that all undersea life is like that. It was spectacular!

Do you do this for a living?

I currently am interning with the Fed fish and wildlife dep while I go to school to study reef life. I spend most time at work observing the endangered wetland brackish water animals here in hawaii. When not working I am observing the reefs or attempting to culture softies in my home tanks. Since they are the only legal "coral" that can be harvested from the reefs their numbers are falling fast. With the help of a few LFS's I'm hoping to get a sustainable aqua-cultured population to head off the impact on the tidal zones.
