Well I tried to make a post with my clownfish and the questions, but it says my message is too short.? Says I need more than four words but there is more than four words. Hmmm

What kind of light do you have on the tank?

Umm...I'm not for sure at the moment. I'll have to ask my father. They are the same lights I had in for more freshwater fish tank.

Oh ok, no biggie, might be where you algae is coming from. Depending on how long you have them on of course. Also when setting up a tank you'll go through algae spurts. I know its a cycled tank but since yall moved everything I'm sure the balance of the tank is a bit thrown off. I say do a small water change and give it time. Just my opinion though, I'm sure others will lend advice as well.

Oh okay. Is there a specific brand of light I should use.? I thought it only mattered if I had the coral and everything.? The algae was already on the rock when I bought it, I am just hoping to get it off of the rocks somehow. I was told to get some snails, but past owners said the crab kills all the snails. :(

Thank you for the advice though! I will do a small water change tomorrow and see if things change in the future. I read that I should do 10%.?

Oh ok, you can always try manual removal. Until you have coral its pretty much personal preference on the light. Snails will take care of it but it'll also be a buffet for your crab apparently!

I scrubbed it a little today and got some of it off. Don't want to do a whole lot of messing around just yet.

Ah...okay. Coral is not in my plan as of yet, but it might be in the future! The tanks with the corals and everything look so amazing. :D But it's so expensive to get it going and I'm a broke college student. haha.

Yes. Anything else but snails that can fix it.?

If it keeps growing just do some more water changes. Algae has to have something to feed off of to grow, usually excess nutrients in the water. What does the algae look like?

Okay. Will do. Some it's just a brownish/green like and hangs on the rocks. Looks like....fuzzy hair.? lol.

Oh! And your clownfish are beautiful by the way. Very jealous of them
