Hello everyone, I just subscribed to 3reef.com and am looking for some suggestions, comments, anything that could help. heres what i have.

    72 gallon bowfront
    2 koralia 650 powerheads
    eshopps wet/dry with overflow
    fluval e series heater
    coralife aqualight (4 t5s, lunar)
90 pounds of cured live rock
    80 puonds of sand
    blue hippo tang
    2 oscelarris clownfish
    2 turbo snails
    levels are good

and about to install a berlin x2 skimmer, but have some doubts about how it is setup, instructions are not that clear. if anybody could help me with some pics that would be awsome.

ok so, i cycled for a months with some cured rock and live sand, put it 2 clownfish, 2 snails, and 2 cleaner shrimp after that month. my shrimp died, now i know that was a mistake. clownfish are doing awsome extremely playful, after two weeks of the clownfish i put in the tang. tang ate the first hour of being in there the live plants that i have there and i doing wonderufl. sleeps wedged into a rock which kinda worried me at first its funny to see.

    ok so now WHAT?

when can i get into inverts? when can i get into corals? how many fish can i have? i want a snowflake eel what do you guys think? what kind a fish would you guys suggest? i like juvenile emperor angel. thanks for any suggestions. will post pics of it

I gotta say i get alot of hobbies, this one is awsome! [IMG]

cant help you with the skimmer - never having used that model/ brand

corals - once your levels have remained constant - for a few weeks you can start adding some of the easier corals IME

Things like Green Star Polyps, Yellow Polyps, Zoanthids, Mushroom colonies, leather corals, Toadstool corals, Anthellia, Colt Coral, Nepthea Tree coral, etc etc
basically look at soft corals from the generally accepted beginner lists for corals

The Eel would be fine with corals, but would have your clowns on the menu possibly

The Angel is a risky proposition when you have corals, as they do tend to sample everything and then eat the things they like the taste of - a natural diet which features sponges, means many soft coral and LPS corals are definitely on the menu as they closely replicate the natural diet

the hippo Tang will outgrow that tank eventually, they are very fast growing in ideal conditions and you may be shocked at the speed in which it increases in size

    welcome to 3 reef

Looking good, but IMO you added the tang too soon.. You should have your tank go through it's cycles first. I would of waited at least 4 months before adding a tang.

    where are you located ger10?

because I would suggest you check out the Reef Cleaners site on this forum
    and their web site
as they do custom clean up crews , various species that give you a full range of inverts that will help with tank maintenance

hey as far as the eel..my friend has two of them in a 60 gallon cube, and he has a large maroon clown with a nem for its safety..so i would hold off on the eel until your fish get a little larger..
