    I am brand new to this forum , But , not totally new to aquariums or salt tanks....Been a WHILE though..Had my first salt tanks in mid seventies,everything from 30gal to 55gal...BOY has technology changed...I am going to get back into it again..and I want to go reef and am surfing the web, local shops and eveything else to reeducate myself to the technology starting with sumps vs cannister filters , lighting ,skimmers,etc.::)

    YEP...Back then undergravel filters and Penguin hang ons were the latest...

    Welcome to 3reef. Yep I am old too, my first tank had an undergravel filter and I thought my tank was hot stuff.

    I love old timers! I'm 35, and my first reef tank was a 29 gallon when I was 14. What is the exact time frame to be considered an old timer? :)
