hi would like to turn my 60 litre biorb life into a marine tank using the biorb conversion kit.i have done a lot of research on this over the last 3 years.
i have kept both goldfish & tropical before.

is the biorb conversion kit any good? ive had mixed reviews on it
does anyone here have a marine biorb?
    how well is it going??
what can i put into my biorb??
i did want 2 percula clown fish 1 cleaner shrimp & 1 hermit crab is this ok?

any help would be great. i am :)

heres what i intend to buy to set my tank up please correct me if i am wrong or have made a mistake.

    marine conversion kit
    marine serive monthly service kit
    5kg of cured live rock
    Hydor Koralia Nano powerhead
ceramic media as the substrate (which i already have)
    saltwater test kit
    hydrometer
    RO water
    marine salt
i have some white pebbles to go in there
    may get some shells
2 thermometers 1 for the tank and 1 to tell me the temp of the salt mix before i add it to the tank.
2 100w heaters 1 for the tank and 1 to heat the saltwater mix in the bucket so i have it at the same temp as what is in the tank
    2 clown fish
    1 shrimp & 1 hermit crab inverts
    fish food
an emergency battery pump in case of a power cut as we get a few round here.

well thats my list of what i think i need.

    just a few more question.

i currently have some tropical fish in my biorb life at the mo and the tank is cycled.so as i will be using the same ceramic media do i have to wash it or can i just leave it for when i convert it to marine?? or shall i wash it and start again??

ive been told to do a 10% water change every 2 weeks ??

once i have set up the biorb with the live rock, heater, powerhead etc
how long shall i leave it till i add the inverts? shall i add the 1 at a time?

then how long after that till i can add the 2 clown fish?

can i add them together? as reffone say to add 1 then the other a month later but other peopl say diffrent im confused. i just dont want to rush it and want the fish/inverts to be happy and slowly build it.

    any help will be fantastic
    thankyou

Sounds like you're right ob par, but there are still a couple things you should do differently.
Instead of pebbles, use live sand as your substrate.
IMO, wash out your filter media and tank properly and then start over a new SW cycle.
A saltwater cycle and saltwater bacteria is different from freshwater.
Yes you can do a 10% WC every two weeks.
After your cycle is finished, you can add all livestock together.
The snails, you could add at about week 3 of your cycle.
Do you plan to go reef later on?
    BTW, welcome to 3reef.

    thanks for the reply :)

how long can it take to cycle?
will the live rock help cycle it?
i may turn to reef at some point.

can i just ask will 2 percula clown fish be ok in my 60ltr biorb life?
shall i add anymore fish or just stick with these 2 and the inverts?

so from when i set my tank up just keep testing the water till its cycled?
then when i get the all clear start adding the fish/inverts yeah?

Add a tiny dartfish, not enough for 2 clowns?

If your using the bubble tube and marine conversion kit you cannot use live sand, But if your going the "Non-Conversion kit" route by using the powerhead and livesand instead the bubble tube filter it is then necessary to add a powerhead and some live sand.

(i replied to your PM with lots more information)

    P.S Welcome to 3reef ;D
