Hello fellow reefers and marine enthusiasts!

I recently retired and although had frshwater aquariums years ago, I jumped into seawater as an extension of my love for anything related to the ocean.
I have a 120g tank with 40g sump that has been cycling for about 2 month now. I am very excited with the addition of my first 2 fish, a coral beauty and a powder brown tang!
I am looking forward to sharing info with all reef lovers out there!!

I do have a question that I hope someone can help me with. When I bought my CORAL BEAUTY on 11/30, I didn't notice two small white spots near the bottom of his gill area.
He appears to be otherwise healthy, to be concise:

PROS: He is eating, breathing normally, eyes are clear, color is bright,
plenty of energy, no other spots or slime, fins are not clamped.

CONS: Scratched his side once on substrate, swimming rapidly back
and forth on right side of aquarium.

    Thanks to all, Robs Reef

Welcome to the saltwater addiction! You have no idea what you have done to yourself moving from freshwater to saltwater, lol. I did the same thing and now I play on this forum all day and don't get any work done, lol.

Sounds like ich from the color and scratching. I would start feeding him garlic infused food. It helps with the fishes immune system. If that doesn't work I would dose the tank with an ich medicine (if you don't have inverts yet). But only if your sure the food isn't working. If the fish doesn't build immunities it will get ich in the future.

Oh and p.s. ....... PICTURES! Everyone wants PICTURES! If you are thinking about something post a picture of your head, lol. Just kidding but seriously.
