Hello everyone. Well this is the first post figured I would just get started. I own a 165 gallon tank 4 feet long, 2 feet wide, and about 30 inches tall, its beautiful with a single overflow on the side. I have already started to begin the supply ordering the tank has no water in it and currently I am beginning to design a stand that I will build later this year. I just got in the mail my RODI unit from Bulk Reef Supply had great customer service and quick shipping got a great deal. I hope to receive a great deal of useful information from everyone on the board and hope someday I may be able to provide that information to new reefers.
    Thanks
    Dan

Welcome Dan, you've got a huge head start on me : ) my next upgrade is going to be a 180g, and with planning I hope to be ready to purchase by this time next year. I'll be paying close attention to your build and take any pointers I can. Best of luck to you and your tank : )

    Plans

Well my Tank plans include doing a egg-crate foam rock wall with a few pieces of wired live rock to the egg crate to weigh it down. I was planning on building two large structures in the center of the tank one at either end, and starting the base with smaller rock and wiring together the rock wider and wider till the top of the tank where flat rock branches from the two columns to connect them. Then one of the columns connected to the foam rock wall. Around the overflow since it is on the short side I was thinking about including in the rock wall some 2 inch pvc pipe in a S like design in case I decide to run a Zebra Moray Eel. I was thinking about doing a Blue Spotted Sting Ray but from what I've read they need at least 180 gallons and lots of roaming room but with no live rock on the floor besides the columns I would think he would have room but I have to talk to a friend of mine a bit more about it. All coral would be attached to the rock with few coral on the sea floor. My fish would include several Tangs, a couple wrasse, a Bengai Cardinal, a couple clowns with an anemone, etc just the standard reef fish.
Thanks for the interest I will post up some pics once I get a little further and start a build thread.
