Welcome! Post pics and I'm sure the suggestions will come flowing in... my advice is PLAN and take your time. More planning upfront will save headaches down the road.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Maybe look at a 20 gallon breeder, or a 40 gallon breeder tanks.

    Welcome to 3 reef.

The bigger the tank the easier it will be I would rec the 40 breeder it is a common starter and can be found all over craigslist for cheap enough and will give you a good sized foot print. The problem with smaller tanks is that it is easier to mess up with overfeeding and chemicals compared to larger aquariums where there is more water in the system to dilute any mishaps.

It is going to be hard to keep up in this hobby with chore money (at least if you get paid what I did $5 a week) you may want to try and enlist the help of the family you can get some good deals on craigslist right now with the way the economy is and honestly the $ that you would spend on the 15 gallon is going to be about the same for a 40 gallon equipment wise they are very similar.

If you keep it simple with a 20 gallon you could have a nice reef set up... you wont be able to go all out like you see in some peoples tanks but you could get a pair of clowns in there with a nice toadstool coral for them to host (try to stay away from anenomes if you can, they like to get up and move and distory tanks) and some other small coral I am not saying it isn't going to be killer it is just going to be easier to mess up if you mess up on your math somewhere.
