    You'll enjoy it here. I'm still in my planning phase. Implementation will come at the end of the year. Your stand build looks good. Nice job on that. I would be a little concerned, though, if the tank is resting on the cross braces and not the edges. It'll probably hold, but I'd do a fill test n the garage first. What kind of finish are you going to use? I'll bet it's really going to look sharp when complete. I love custom, owner-built stands.

    Welcome to 3reef. One thing about the stand that I would suggest is to add at least one more vertical leg to the back at least. You don't want the 2x4s to flex to much in the middle.

    This is what I did for a 40 gallon breeder. The only thing that I ended up changing was not putting the center leg in the back.

    Thanks everyone!

    My wife wanted the stand to just be sealed, no stain or paint.

    Here's an updated picture of the stand + tank in place in the living room (minus lighting, which I have yet to start building).
