I just wanted to say hi
I am new to the salt water game, but have plenty of experience with medium tech planted tanks. I chose to sign up for this site since i read on another site that 3reef is pretty good at not pushing sponsor products and suppressing alternatives (like other large reef sites). Im a forum junkie, it keeps me busy as i bus to and from work, or when the kids are in bed and i feel like annoying the wife (she's anti non-food fish)

Due to space limitations, i started a 10 gallon nano reef set up. The tank is luckily set up next to a storage crawlspace, and i will be running lines to a sump within it to atleast have a higher water volume for stability.

I am going skimmerless, i change water weekly as it is, so no biggy to me. I made an overflow compartment on the tank, which i will drill at a later time, it keeps the surface clear. At the moment i have a canister filter on it (two pieces of live rock in it). To help with water quality, the sump will have a remote deep sand bed, and the canister will later be placed only on the sump to be a cryptic zone (its modded to bypass the baskets when i install flow restricting plates). The sump will also have macro algae on a reverse light cycle.

As i said, im a forum junkie, so i've done plenty of reading into setting up a nano tank and on DSBs.
