New to saltwater, and learning that the best resources are on the web.

I have a 90 gallon set up. RR, 29 gallon sump.

I have 80 pounds of Live sand and will add another 40 of a different substrate, maybe Aragonite .
Ordered Octopus NW-110 Needle-Wheel
Protein Skimmer.

Still trying to decide on the lighting system. I am leaning towards the t-5 ho, They seem to put out a lot of light and I dont have to worry about them heating up the tank or the house.

To that end I am trying to decide if it will be easier/cheaper to try and build a canopy, and retro fit the T5 HOs or should I go with the Tek T5s or the Nova extreme T-5 set up.

I think the Teks are supposed to put out more light.

Let me know what you guys think.

With a 90 gallon tank, it is advantageous not to cut corners. Bigger is better! Did you look at the Aqua C EV120 or 180? They are awesome skimmers.
As for lighting, I don't know much about t5's but I do know that metal halides rule. And as for the heat generated by them, all you need is a good fan to blow across the top of your water. You can keep 250's or even 400's on the tank and the water will stay at a comfortable level IME!!!
