Go big to begin with if you have the budget because you will end up going big later on if the bug hits you.
Welcome to 3reef, glad to have you aboard.

    Hello and welcome to 3reef!
Best of luck to you as you venture into the undersea world!
As for the tank size...start with the biggest size you can afford or fit in the space allotted! This will afford you a better chance of success as human error will be less critical the bigger the tank is for the most part.

Welcome To 3reef! Great Question! Well, I confidently say that you should get the biggest tank you can afford. AND make sure not to get any tank with the word "tall" in the description. That never did me any good...just makes the lights less effective.

Do you have any ideas of what kind of tank you want to create? SPS, LPS, softies. Before anyone says anything, make sure to check out T-5HO lighting. MH is still #1, but if you don't want to deal with those T-5s are great for any coral (assuming you have enough of them). I keep sps corals growing very fast!

Feel free to ask any questions, usually the ones that sound dumb in your head are the most important ones. ;)

Salutations! Glad to see you found way here!

Go for as big a tank as you can swing. Much easier to keep stable then smaller one.
