    I'm stephen and im 18 and i am starting my first reef tank. About twenty pounds of live rock, 30ps live sand. 3 Damsels 2 yellow tails and i 4 striped, 2 snails as well. BakPak bio-filter. Bran new 30G. Looking to upgrade but not sure what size. Any suggestions on corals or anything like that would be great. Also looking forward to learn more on this forums, great info. Thanks

    Sounds like your up and off to a good start!!! Should wait on the snails until after it cycles (about 8 weeks)

    I read that on here :)


    But what type of lighting would you all recomend for a 30G. Not to expensive but good enough to keep a reef system well lighted.

    yep Kingterra has a good point 1 damsel for a 30 is better

    Nothing really its just better to cycle your tank with one and later on if you want any more add then. Most people dont like a couple of damsels and just put one in about a week into cycle. No bug problem its will just add more of a bioload on your tank during the cycle thus prolonging.
