So as you may know, I introduced two clowns to my display tank on saturday the 21st. Unfortunately one of the clowns got stuck under a rock. The store where I bought the fist at were all out of that fish and they get their shipment on Wednesdays. I am wondering if that is too long of a period for having the clown alone in the tank. Has it already made the tank his? Thanks!

I remember your old thread. You were wondering what was wrong with your two clowns. Since something went wrong in your qt stage and you tossed em in your display tank and then one died an you found him under the rock. I would wait on adding another clown since you just added two 2 days ago and one perished sadly. I would watch your tank and try and figure out what went wrong so you can fix your situation so the next clown will be great. You should space out adding fish so not to impact Bio system too much. If one died in the tank it could spike some levels.
Jm2c. Play it slow and safe.

Also you can add your second clown at any point. Just try and get one much smaller than your current.

OK. the new clown was very healthy. My mistake was trying to top off my water that I added to my qt. SO I think i spooked my new clown and maybe shifted some things around. rookie mistake. So you don't think it will be a problem if the new clown is smaller?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
The new clown can be smaller.

When ever you're able to get a new clown adding a smaller one should decrease the chance of aggression between the 2.

It takes weeks to months for a lone clown to become the dominate female. As long as you add a younger one you should be safe.
