    In my experance micron filter bags works best when you have 2 or 3 extras so when one is dirty just change it out .. But Gettin back to your ? i think micron filter bags are kinda like a extra nice to have thing but not a MUST HAVE kinda filtration.. I think with out it your skimmer will pick up the extra goo and produce more skimmate than it curently is making along with that a 2cond skimmer will not be needed

    Keep in mind just my $.02
