i just recieved some stuff that i ordered online. i ordered a lettuce nudibranch, a false percula clown, and a sally light foot crab.

The crab hasn't moved, the nudibranch i have no clue if it's living or arrived dead and the clown i think was a true percula instead of a false percula! :furious:

can someone help me determine the condition of the nudibranch atleast??

i am acclimating them now as i type to go into QT. The nudibranch has moved alittle but has some clear mucas comming off it since it's had some new water added to it. the crab is right side up but hasn't moved....i think its dead.

    help

The water they came in will give you a clue, if it smells bad then it isn't good. The nudibranch may have a protective coating on and the crab will most likely move in a bit.

I've seen crabs not move for a couple of days. The nudibranch will acclimate slowly. What is the salinity of the water it came in and what is the salinity of the water in your tank. The nudi will have to be acclimated slowly like shrimp or starfish.

i dont think you could see anything from the pictures i took....the crab looks like a crab...but it doesn't move not at all. i see the nudibranch has attached to the bucket i'm acclimating him in so thats good. the nudibranch is tiny!!! like the size of a nickle or a dime.

how can i tell the false percula from a true?? i already have one male (or it was the male...the female i had jumped out ..) but the clown i already have has 3 white bands one on the head one on the body and one over just before the tail. the clown i recieved has the same orange color but the bands don't fully go around him just little dips that dont meet in the center

water from the crab bag was kinda cloudy but not smelly. I also got some macro algae. should the water they were shipped in go into my fuge? probably not right but thought i'd ask as i don't want to turf it if i can use it

You don't know what problems you may be introducing from another tank. Always dispose of the water.

The only way to really check the genus of the clown is to count the dorsal spines, and that is practically impossible. The white stripes will grow as he matures unless he is a true misbar. Can you post pics of the clown?
