Im going to get my first coral today and was wondering what I should get. water is not being dosed with calcium, but besides that its great. lighting is a 215w t5 from oddysea, one bulb broke so its 2 actinics and 1 12k. could I keep some zoa's, GSP, mushrooms, or xenia with that lighting?
    thanks a bunch,
    Jake

Most likely. What size of tank do you have?

those are good starters supratt. you should be fine with your lighting for now. those 3 types are very hardy.

Yes you could definitely keep those type of coral with no problems. Those are all hardy choices.

You're light should handle most soft coral very well.

I would say, If you want a great splash of color try a Ricordea if they have them, They are definitely stunning under most to any lighting conditions.

there were no GSP availible that I like so I went with some pink/brown zoas. about 7-8 polyps on there rock but they acually look pretty decent for the price.

Hold on a minute. You have a bulb out and spent money on corals instead of a new bulb first? Thats like buying your dog a new collar but he's out of food.

Not trying to be discouraging, but I find it a bit alarming you plan on getting your first coral in 15 minutes and this is when you decide to pick something...

With these softies, you have good odds - but in the long run, it will become disappointing IMHO.

I recommend you slow down a bit and research your choices. In the meantime, I would fix that light.

If you are not maintaining your Ca, Alk, and Mg you will have a difficult time with anything stony - so that limits your choices (as does the lessened light).

I hope you like whatever you end up doing and best of luck!
