AAAGGGHHH!!!! the beautiful frogspawn we got for my birthday is showing a little brown jelly on one of the heads. the tissue has receded up the skeleton all the way to the polyp! this is on one of the stalks with two adjoining heads! the other two heads are extending good but also show some tissue recession!

salinity is 1.025 (a little low), Zero testable nitrates, phosphates, PH 8.16, 8KH, temp is 80.8-79.6 per the controller. not testing any current on the multimeter.

it is not blasted by current but a nice random flow. it is a Wild caught colony so I can understand if it is not extending all the polyps.

Any ideas????? aaggghh!!! this was an expensive piece that was doing extremely well the whole time. not seeing anyone pick on it either... I did take it out and dip it in some oral rx pro...gently blew off all the brown tissue...

Well, I would say goodbye to that head. Once is starts dieing, it more than likely won't recover.

Personally, I would cut off that head and get it out of the tank. If the brown jelly gets in contact with any other LPS heads, it has potential to destroy them as well.

This is likely the cause of the infected head being damaged. Even being slightly damaged (dropped on the sand) can cause the head to get infected.

Use a hack saw and cut off the infected head. It will likely be nothing but a skelleton soon.

Thanks. Ive had it since mid June and it has looked perfect up until yesterday. I never dropped it. The dealer I got it from had it only a Few days. I am thinking it may be stress from my modified light cycle so I am changing back to a traditional of 8 hours straight on instead of 4 on 6 off
