Help! - BRS GFO Reactor Pump Size?

    I know that GFO needs to run with not a lot of flow. Would a maxi-jet 400 provide enough flow (reactor will be about 8 inches above pump). If not, what size would you recommend? I'd prefer not to get a larger pump and dial it down unless it's really the best option.

    bump. My water mixing pump died, so I need to submit an order for both pumps asap. :)

    it depends on the head. Best thing to do is go higher and throttle back.

    the 400 will work just make sure it just slowly moves the gfo and not pulverize it

    I've decided to go with the 400. If it's too slow, I'll just swap it and make the 400 my ato pump and use the 600 on the reactor. :)

    I think you are going to find the 400 to be too small. Maxijets do not do well with head pressure.

    They sell the 1200 if I remember right for the dual reactor. You might be OK with a 900.
