help copper safe

ust put my clowns in with a dose of 2/4 teaspoon how long do i leave them in there?

there is no water circulation should i add one i cant see the ich infested aread or the sides of the fish only the top (there in a 5 gallon bucket with 2 gallons of water)

 

If you are not medicating your tank they were living in, you will need to keep them in quarantine for about 6-7 weeks for the ich life cycle in the display tank to die off. I would use the entire 5 gallon bucket, like 3 gallons of fresh saltwater and one gallon of the tank water and treat it with the recommended dosage. Add circulation in the water and a fine airstone and do small WC. Separated medication is growing less popular these days, since moving the wish into new water will stress them even more (since the water chemistry will be completely different).

 

Are you using Copper Safe, by Mardel? If so it is chelated and will not work effectively in saltwater. You need to use Ionic copper such as the Copper product by Aquarium Systems. Not sure what you are doing, fish are in a 5 gal bucket with coppersafe? How long are you putting them in there? It would be effective you do a fresh water dip if you are going to put them in a 5 gal bucket, or use the ionic copper.
