I was at the lfs and he had a Coralife pure-flow II, I repeatedly asked him if this was an RO/DI unit, not just an RO unit the box reads "mixed bed deionization cartridge". I bought it because it looked easy to hook up.

I saw only 3 cartridges and that was the first thing that concerned me, usually when looking at RO/DI units I see 4 to 5 cartridges. Below is a link to a description of the product I bought.

    http://www.oceanicsystems.com/products/pure-flo-ii---3-canister-systems.php

Before I hook this up I'd like to decide if I need to return it.

    Thanks for any tips here.

Sorry folks that link is NOT IDENTICAL TO MY UNIT.

usually the 3 verticle cartridges are: sediment, charcoal, and DI. The RO membrane goes horizontally across the top.

I searched it on a few other websites because dr fosters was confusing having ONE add for 5 different products. But looks like one of those cartridges is a DI.

I don't see a DI on it, just carbon on the top and the RO filters. Depending on what you paid for it'd I'd take it back unless it was a great price, then just order the DI part.

Thanks Gman, I guess I thought it would be screaming RO/DI all over the box but I guess not. I hate buying something than immediately turn around and take it back!

Last filter looks like a sort of "green sand", this is labeled "Deionization cartridge".

Maybe it is then, it just doesn't show that on that link... Make sure you get a TDS meter though so you know how your water quality is after it's made.
