So I thought both my clowns had ich (white spots on them) and my male clown dissappeared and i assume is dead. I did a freshwater dip on the female which seemed to be a success. I left the tank for about a day and she is hovering on the bottom and her white stripes look discolored. Especially yhe one near her hea, the top looks like it was just rubber off. The rest of them have dark edges, nothing looks frayed, just discolored. What could this be??? Is this still ich? She is my last fish alive from this whole disaster please tell me if you have any suggestions!

I also just noticed that she has bumps on her body, something internal?

I had a pair true perc's a couple years ago that had the same kinda thing, they both ended up dying. very sad. Never figured out what it was. I got a UV and never had an ich problem ever again or any other fish related parasite. Sorry about the male, hopefully the female pulls through it. The discoloring sounds like fish stress. Make sure you check your parameters, is she breathing heavily, not swimming correctly? does she eat?

she is swimming kind of weird, but not weird for night time, just hovering. The weird thing is she isn't in her normal sleeping spot, shes out in the middle of the sand. Not sure if shes eating, she ate before i left. I'll feed her first thing tomorrow and see. Hopefully she makes it until then. Not much I can do at night without majorly stressing.

As for water tests, i tested the other day and all was normal, all zero. Sp.gr. 1.022 temp:75-77.

I will test the water sometime tonight, im thinking about staying up and trying to put together a q tank, i had one kind of setup before but it didn't work out. Could be a late night.

she will not eat today, she looks worse and is working hard to stay erect. She is looking like the male did when he died, and it doesn't sound like ich. He top fin (with the spines?) looks like it has been eroded. The space under her eyes is sunken in, very strange, is this ich?

I'm afraid this could be the result from ich, I've had fish that have had bad ich and then later have fallen to these types of symptoms. Unfortunately all of my fish that have had this have died. Not real sure what you can do, putting any more stress on the fish will surley lead to it's demise.

yea...its frustrating cuz i did the freshwater dip with her, before she became visibly stressed from ich, she went through it just fine (did it for 30 mins), went back into the tank, acted normal. I leave for a day and now shes knocking on death's door. Its just really frustrating b/c i have lost all three of my fish now. I think im going to do the UV and, the freshwater dip before quarantine, from now on. Right now im going to do a water change, maybe it will help. Due for one anyway :/

Well she didn't make it, found her dead this morning. Did some tests again, everything checks out, pH 8.1-8.3 (hard to tell), Nitrate 0, Nitrite 0, Ammonia 0

Very sad, im gonna miss them.

Aww.. man sorry for your loss.. I thought mine was gonna die once. I try and use garlic additives every once in a while, also formula one food has garlic in it. Sorry again.
