sorry about the unnecessary arguments roemer, heres what i would do if i were you. if you have a quarantine tank transfer all the fish to the tank, if not see if a friend or LFS could maybe hold some of the livestock for you.

if you cant do either of these i would highly suggest a large water change, and definitely run some carbon asap.

im not saying you dont know what your talking about, but the way you express your knowledge to "help" the OP is awful. in these cases you must be understanding. dont be so impatient or your help will never be wanted.

    Oh the internets..............

Just do some water changes, daily if possible. And add some carbon to the tank (in a mesh bag or reactor) wash the carbon before using it too.

Nothing else you can do besides that. If all the fish die I would consider draining the tank and starting over. Soak the rock in water and do frequent water changes before using it again just to be safe. This will insure all of the chemicals are leeched out of the rock
(also run carbon while doing this)

I forgot to ask, how old is the tank and what else have you done lately to the tank besides the mr. clean sponge?

If the tank is new this could be the problem too.

Good catch.Roemer, sorry for your losses,if you could give us some more info about your tank I'm sure we can help get it going in the right direction, but for starters the suggested water change and running some carbon could only help.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    And what fish types please?

As much information regarding the system will help with trouble shooting.

Welcome to 3reef by the way. :)

I googled Mr.Clean and marine aquariums prior to commenting on the thread and there seems to be a good deal of information available. I am unfamiliar with the product.

Mr clean actually doesn't use any chemicals, at least the unscented ones do not. It's basically extremely fine sand Paper.. Well.. Literally it is.

The tank is brand new, i just got it up and running and after adding the water i just wiped down the inside of the glass and in the morning i noticed 2 damsels dead and my clown was acting strange, later this evening my clown passed away in the QT tank. It has been a ****ty day for me and my hobby, I now just need to take matters into getting the tank safe well before any fish go back into it.

    Was the tank cycled?

Did you use any cycling assist products?

    Tap water or RO/DI water?

I am sorry for all the questions, it's difficult to gauge your level of experience based on the provided information.

Damsels/Clowns are pretty hardy and usually do not succumb to new tank syndrome as fast as other more sensitive fish, within reason of course.

Specific age of tank would be important information as well as all available water chemistry.

Chin up!!!!! The tank will come around if you research and hang with the hobby.
