    on a serious note

the stickies above copied here for your convenience are a great source of information
    on coral nutrition

I am a fan of providing corals with foodstuffs, even though many dont, allowing the coral to attain its needs from the symbiotic algae etc

I like to feed a variety of foods including Phyto and Zooplankton in various sizes/ grades
and then larger food stuffs such as cyclopeze for corals with larger polyps and also mysis, brine etc for LPS corals that can hold and consume larger food offerings

I prefer to target feed wherever possible using a pipette to release the foods upflow of the particular corals I am attempting to feed , rather than broadcast feed, as I feel coral gets more benefit before the supplement fed ends up in the filter or skimmer

water quality is key for me
as long as Im not poluting the water (nutrients are controlled) then I am happy to continue feeding my corals in this manner

My frog spawn loves to eat mysis. I'll drop a few pieces on it an it snatches it right up. My open brain I had a hard time feeding. The mysis wouldn't stay stuck to the tentacles.

It sounds like the previous owner gave you some food. The phytoplex. That sounds like food for lps coral. Doesnt sound like you have any SPS (Small polyp Stony) So that really all you need. Just follow directions as when to feed. Your mushrooms and softies really can survive of your lighting. btw. What type of lighting do you have and how many watts?

Let your cursor hover over the letters, "LPS". 3Reef will decode that acronym for you.
