    just did a copper test came back clean. chromaplex is what i have been putting in the tank.

    and i just did a early water change for measures

    ok great news muscles is still alive, its just the A.crab that is dead, and the snail flip over on their back

    High mag will kill snails (or make them fall over until you get it under control).

    And depending on the type of snail, they cannot right themselves and they die.

    Any chance we might only be looking at a dead crab issue (maybe snails aren't part of it)?

    yes i think you are correct coyee. i do remember doing a mag dose lasts weekend. and i just went to feed everyone and the snails are moving now. sorry everyone false alarm :-[

    but the real question is what killed the crab.

    Could've been a bad molt, brought on by fluctuating conditions.

    The range of salinity for most of the ocean's water is from 34.60 to 34.80 parts per thousand. There are variations in salinity depending on the region.

    Salinity is generally 33 to 37 parts per thousand.
    For specific gravity you want to be in the 1.024 to 1.026 range.
