    Hi guys,

I think I may have pulled off a huge newbie mistake here. I was pouring RO water into my tank because of the evaporation. The salinity was 1.024 before I did it. After I poured it in, it slipped to about 1.021/.022.

Then the worst happened...:-X My beautiful gigantic green bubble anemone shrunk to the size of a coin.....

I quickly mixed together a batch of saltwater and poured it in. Now my salinity is back to 1.024, however the anemone is still small, very small....

    Any advice ?

Could be just stressed from the sudden change. I would wait a while and see if the anemone improves. Is it discharging anything or losing tentacles?

    Likely do to the stress.

If your water level was low and the SG was 1.024 then your SG with out the evap was already 1.021. Topping up your water level with RO is the only way to do it. I would suggest a auto top off or perform manual top offs more often. This will elliminate those large swings

Good Luck, I'm sure your BTA will bo OK

I dont recommend pouring water directly in. I have a gallon jug with airline tubing and valve and let it drip in til my water level is right. It helps with the SG swings.
