i think my blenny is about to go belly up! He swims a little when I intice him to. All of my water parameters are right on except my phosphates are around .8. 56 gallon reef tank. Two clowns 3 blue green chromis. Hermits. Snails. He seemed fine yesterday. He's looki pretty skinny but won't eat anything I try to feed. He already ate up all of my algae. Any suggestions??? Thanks.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Does not sound good.

It's not uncommon to acquire fish that may have already been nutritionally compromised, or have intestinal parasites, commonly both.

You can provide more O2 and move to a treatment tank and treat for intestinal parasites.

Perhaps someone else can provide more options.

Sorry I could not be of more help, although phosphates are not usually the issue.

another thought - have you tried to give it some nori or other type of greens? do you have any algae any where else in your tank like the sump? If you do, you could try putting him in there. You could possibly take him back to the store if they have some tank with algae in it. Lawnmowers are known to slowly starve unfortunately once algae is depleted.

How long have you had if? What size tank? I know my lawnmower won't touch prepared seaweed either. Do you have a picture? I think I almost lost mine a couple months ago due to algae not being available for him to eat (not enough algae, strange problem, i know). OFK made a good suggestion about the sump, you may look at an LFS for some macro algae. I think Vinnyboombatz suggested I try ocean nutrition formula 2 flake but I am not positive that is what it was called, I was unable to find it therefore I am not sure I remember the name correctly.
