    I got some better pics of the algae that is in my tank. Can you please help me identify it?

    not sure what its called but i've had this before. weird disgusting brownish bubble algae. thts what i call it anyway lol

    is that not dyno or whatever its called..the toxic algae that kills lots of stuff..not trying to scare you but its looks like the snot algae..

    saltwaterboy do you have a CUC??

    that was i was thinking..but i could be 100% wrong..going through a couple lists is..not cyano, not hair algae, not slime algae, the only thing i would think it would be is dino..

    you def has something because of trates and phates..so i would start running some gfo or some type of phosphate/silicate removing media..i use clear max made by fluvall from petsmart for 8$ in just a cheap hang on filter and have never seen bad algae..you can start doing water changes, but make sure your reading 0 on rodi water or water changes could be feeding the bloom of whatever..

    Its not Dinos because they make air bubbles and it hasnt killed any of my snails, shrimps, hermit crabs, or fish. Is it Diatoms? I have PhosGuard in the tank to take out phosphates and silicates.

    It looks like cyto - just a light version - you are still cycling right? or just finished?

    could i add some red slime remover into my tank? It says it kills cyano too.
