tanks about 1.5 years old but i recently changed out alot of my rocks to carbsea south seas dry rock... this is about how much snot i take out daily... I'm guessing the rock is leeching out.. my RODI is reading 0 tds. No water changes for about a month now, all live stock is fine.. tank looks gross tho..

I would say it has to be the rock.....it seems to me that you'll need to do some water changes along with pulling out the "snot." I know when I've read about dinos, the suggestion is not to do water changes...have you determined that it is dinos?

you mean the algae stuff is getting on the egg crate? Did you do some water changes? Any updates? I hope that removing the rock will slow it down.....

The battle is finally over... after almost 3 months, I have defeated the snot. removed all rock boiled and soaked in a vinegar diluted RODI for 2 weeks.while soaking rocks disturbed my sand bed and vacuumed all debris. started a heavy H2O2 dose every morning an hour before lights turn on. purchased Fritz Zyme 460 bacteria cleaner dosed the recommended amount and turned off skimmer for 2 days as stated on bottle. every night I would add an addition cap full of Fritz. All that combined with pumping out all the slime daily and I am now 99.9% snot free! all corals have lost a bit of color due to heavy H2O2 dosing but and still opening up full and eating.. Thanks to all that posted to try to help out!
