They can sting the crap out of your corals.....plus, having them all through the tank is unsightly :D

I used to like the way my mojanos looked in my fish only...almost like mini torches! But i agree very very unsightley with a bad little sting.

They might not be peppermints....I heard that there is a shrimp that looks like a peppermint and sold as a peppermint, but is not and will not eat aptaisia....

Hi just to get my pennies worth in! I tried the pepermint shrimp approach at first but found that they prefered what ever else food they could get as apposed the aptasia. i was advised to cut down on feeding so they would then start on them. however i found this impractical so went for the lemon juice injecting! It took about ten minutes all in all to get thirty of them!

All you need to do is stab them with the syringe and squeeze! when you are pulling out the the syringe squirt some more juice around them (this also "burns" their tenticles and keeps them closed up)

The only concern i had was when i injected the aptasia that were in my sand as the lemon reacts with the sand, but i later found my calcium levels to have risen.... so basically you are also getting a mini calcium reactor for your troubles!!!

The best lemon juice i found was fresh as apposed to the "jif" plastick lemons

    Hope this helps!

My peppermint shrimp do a great job of aptaisa control in my tank. It's really a crap shoot on those guys.

Hello there everyone, I noticed this quote from geologeek:(The only concern i had was when i injected the aptasia that were in my sand as the lemon reacts with the sand, but i later found my calcium levels to have risen.... so basically you are also getting a mini calcium reactor for your troubles!!! )
I was wondering if you could add lemon juice to Kalkwasser instead of vinegar???
