Help....I'm confused about the plumbing?

Yeah the three tanks are gonna be stocked on a shelf on top each other and the sump on the floor.... The spray bar will be in the sump

 

why do you want the spray bar in the sump?

 

Well... it's not necessary but that's how the guy who owned it b4 me had it. I think the spray bar would be good in the sump because, instead of the water falling in one spot, the spray bar would help it disperse it evenly around the filter media.

 

the only time i would use a spray bar in a sump is if you had a refugium section in your sump and you wanted to use a spray bar to tumble cheatomorpha or something....otherwise i would have a spray bar in each tank to get a good wide flow in each display tank. If it were me id just have all the drains just drain right into one location in the sump onto a filter mat or something...
