HELP! Is my damselfish fish hurt????

    I saw my new damselfish fish and it looks like his fin is split in two.

    The damselfish is a yellow-tail damsel

    the levels look fine nitrate 5
    ammonia 0
    nitrite 0
    salt level 1.022
    and everything else is fine

    Could you post a pic? just in case its a bacterial infection..

    If its just his fin and nothing else then it should grow back, when i add a new fish sometimes my clowns or something will pick at it and he will get his fins nipped at and they grow back within a week.

    I am having problems up loading the pic, but yes it is only one of my damsels and only on that one fin.

    Convert it to a Jpeg, resize it using free online tools, upload it to a free service like Photobucket.

    Meanwhile, if you are feeding a quality food that you are supplementing with Vitamins and HUFAs, it will regrow.

    As long as its eating, and NOT breathing rapidly or not being active, he should be fine. Do you have any other tank mates? May have been a territorial dispute. But as said above, fins will grow back
