Help - is my toadstool leatherhead still alive?

    last wed. i purchased my first toadstool leatherhead ... after i placed it in the tank he opened up and was looking beautiful .... he has not opened up since then... i know this can be normal ... is it also normal for the trunk to start turning brown in places?:confused:

    It's normal for them to stay closed for a few days. The brown spots on the trunk, on the other hand, don't sound good.

    i know toadstools are pretty hardy.. what are your water parameters and light cycle? mine will go in for a day or two then come back out but never that long.

    What kind of lights do you have?

    How long have you had this aquarium setup for?

    What are your water tests like?

    What else is in the tank? Fish? Corals? Inverts?
