help iv mess up my tank

hi there for those who saw my tank a year on pic the other day i put tetra aqua nitrate minus which they said put a cap in a day and some werid looking brown rice stuff in my external filler iv got high nitrates. the guy who gave it to me has 25yrs experices and this morning my coarls aint opening or look skined my anemone is folding on one size and changing colour this is after 2days. now i have abit of nitrite my fish and inverts seem fine iv taken out that stuff in the fitter and done a 25lilter water change i dont know what else 2 do now look at my tank im going 2 work in the next 20min and will be back in 6hrs any advice would help im freaking out

I would be doing some serious water changes and running some quality carbon and changing every couple days for a least a week.

 

+1 I would start doing the WC's now and running carbon like corailline suggested.

if you have a store around you that sells startsmart. it will instantly take care of the nitrite and nitrate issues. than do water changes.

ok iv done a water change and im putting in jbl cabomec ultra when do u think i should do the next water change

 

Personally I would not add anymore chemicals to the tank. You are just chasing the numbers. Water changes and carbon are going to be your best friend right now.
