I need a little help. I'm setting up a new 90gal setup. I'm looking for a good skimmer, but also one that won't kill my bank. Should I go new vs used & how big??? I'm planning on building a 40gal sump, so by the end of the day it will be processing 130gal of water give or take do to the 40gal won't be full to allow for power loss.

    Thanks,

    CJ

I dont know how big your bank is, but the skimmer that Gazog mentioned is awesome. I also have a 90g with a 55g sump/refug and this baby rocks. Shop around and dont be afraid to buy used, you'll save alot of $$$. Look in the 3reef classifieds, I think there was one for sale there.

I will also second, well third, on the EV-180. I have it on my 150G with 30G under the tank and it is great.

I'm using the ASM G2 on a 90 gallon with a 24 gallon sump and it's working great, quiet and pulls some really nasty stuff outta the water

Hey buddy hows that new tank doing ? find the bulb problem ? if not just holler I sent you the tech info from them I assume you got that ? If its a bad bulbs just holler we'll get that changed out .. I told you that was a Kicking skimmer :)

But Coralife are a O.K cheap skimmer just above junk IMO I'd take a Red Sea Berlin Classic with a Mag 9 and run all over one. If you ever ran a good skimmer then you know what is not a not so good skimmer is..Like that Nautilus line of skimmer by Kent's pure junk .. I guess they still make them ?
