HELP!!!! low PH killed fish?

    what brand of buffer are you using?

    also are you mixing it with fresh water first.

    Low ph will kill fish but i have had my ph at 7.8 before and my corals and fish were fine. i believe your tap water is what killed the fish you should only use ro/di water one reason is tap has chemicals in it to make it safe for humans to drink from the processing plants. also many minerals are in the water which will throw off levels. i would do atleast a 25% water change using ro/di water with the buffer in it. keep air pumps and filters on point your circulation fans up to the surface. i know this is an old post but hope this helps in future cases

    It all depends on where you live too. I can use tap water and my levels stay perfect, but only because I live in an area where tap water is actually very good for living creatures. Most places aren't so.

    Yeah I don't see Baltimore water being all that great. Everyone except a few corals made a recovery I. Am not using tap anymore
